POWER CUBE

Fitness & Well Being Center
Geneva, Switzerland

The design of POWER CUBE required a thoughtful approach to seamlessly integrate its four core pillars: Health, Performance, Biohacking, and Longevity. Our vision was to create a break from the urban landscape, an experience, dedicated to holistic well-being.To bring this vision to life, we focused on two key elements. The aesthetics should evoke a natural-toned ambiance, providing a grounding atmosphere for visitors, while on the other hand, the architecture introduces them to the interior spaces. The aesthetic choices were primarily focused on neutral tones and monochromatic textures. To evoke the essence of the earth, we used beige-toned shades, that we contrasted with textures, by using metallic bronze, carbon black, ash gray, and dark wood finishes. The flooring in particular, features a special texture that creates a sense of fluidity, adding depth and a dynamic feel to the space. The contrast of materials in our design changes based on the space’s purpose. Areas that require focus have more contrast, while calmer spaces have softer, more subtle combinations. We wanted to create a synergy between the different dynamics that POWER-CUBE offers, while conserving the same visual identity of the whole concept.Architecture serves as a guide for an intuitive journey through Power Cube. The fuel bar, located at the entrance and fully opened to the public, marks both the first and last stop, framing the entire experience. The space invites movement and flow from one area to the next, with curves as a defining feature and a central element of our approach. The journey comes full circle as visitors reemerge, refreshed, making healthy, nourishing choices at the fuel bar.

BLUE DRAGON YACHTING

Boat Re-fit & Hull extension
Koh Kood & Ko Mak, Thailand

YearStatusSurfaceLocation
2023On-going150 sq.mThailand

Blue Dragon Yachting, based in Thailand, acquired a 23 meter traditional Thai long-tail boat and commissioned us to design both the exterior and interior plans for its refurbishment and extension. The design process involved stripping down the boat at the shipyard, leaving only the hull intact, and then extending the hull and reconfiguring the interior layout with new partitions according to the updated design concept. The goal of the re-fit was to transform the boat into a multi-functional space that could host events and also operate as a restaurant. The design included provisions for the interior event space to be converted into two additional cabins and a living room. A cabin-suite was also incorporated, along with a kitchen and technical spaces for the crew, with water and fuel reserves stored beneath the hull.At the bow, a salon was added, integrated into the shape of the deck. The existing upper deck was reused as a platform for exterior events, and a pilot house was added to accommodate three crew members. At the stern of the boat, an extension platform for catering services was added. The renovation features dark wooden finishes, gold accents, and traditional Thai folkloric artwork on the walls, reflecting the cultural heritage of the region.Once completed, the boat began regular trips between Koh Kood and Ko Mak islands, offering a unique experience to passengers.

Modular Design and Technical Development of Exhibition Stand Stockholm Furniture Fair & Workspace Design Show, London

In collaboration with Percy Booths, I designed and documented the technical development of their modular exhibition stand, presented at the Stockholm Furniture Fair and the Workspace Design Show in London. The company had an initial concept for the booth and required support to translate it into a technically feasible solution. My role involved developing a modular system adaptable to the spatial constraints of both trade shows. By breaking down the structural components into standardized parts, I enabled a high degree of flexibility, simplifying transport, site adaptation, and on-site assembly.Deliverables included detailed technical drawings, structural plans, and a sourcing guide for materials. With no existing technical documentation or 3D models, I rebuilt the project from the concept stage, devising a clear assembly system along with a materials list for procurement. The final presentation also included assembly instructions, allowing the Percy Booths team to construct the stand directly on site using locally sourced materials in Germany. This approach ensured the project's feasibility while preserving the original aesthetic intent, and enabled a smooth installation at both international events.

ECO-HOUSE-ANCHORED CARAVAN

2018Awarded Proposal100 sq.mSahara Desert

Awarded 2nd place in the “Sahara Eco House” competition for the project called “Anchored Caravan”, organized by the Re-thinking architectural platform.

When the architectural competition platform ReThink launched a new contest focused on reinventing the Sahara Eco House, I was immediately captivated. Living and working in Marrakech, on the edge of the Sahara Desert, has led me to a constant exploration of Saharan architecture and the lifestyle of the Tuareg people in this extreme environment. The competition brief called for a new concept of housing that would be integrated into its environment, relying on passive design strategies to ensure both optimal comfort and a high level of architectural quality.Big questions naturally emerged:
Is human life truly viable in such an environment?
Can architecture offer solutions that make this life more comfortable in what appears to be a hostile setting?
Our proposal is located in the southeastern Moroccan Sahara. The project seeks to redefine human habitation by connecting it to one of the desert's most resilient inhabitants: the cactus. Specifically, the structure and form of the cactus — and more precisely its spines — inspired us to develop strategies for enhancing thermal mass, creating shade, and collecting water. These “spines” are arranged on the exterior surface, with density and thickness varying according to solar orientation. Each unit can operate independently or be replicated to create a modular system capable of altering the microclimate, gradually transforming it into a more hospitable environment.

Urban Generators – Mobile Units for the Culture Workshop in Paphos, Cyprus.

A two-week architecture workshop held in Paphos, Cyprus, initiated by architects Chryso Onisiforou and Charis Petrou [xx-a]. The event was primarily sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus, with additional support from the Municipality of Paphos and the Cyprus Architects Association. The workshop took place in a former city cinema, which was transformed into a creative space for the occasion. Its main objective was to explore ephemeral, mobile, and lightweight architecture in connection with the urban environment, while experimenting with ways to activate public space. The approach emphasized flexible and portable structures, designed using local resources and meant to coexist harmoniously with the existing urban fabric. The workshop was open to young people under 35, from Cyprus and abroad. Applications were welcomed from a wide range of profiles: architecture students, young architects, engineers, designers, artists, and urbanism enthusiasts. Seventeen people applied; eight were selected to participate. The workshop ran from September 8 to 19 in Paphos, led by the two founding architects. The result of this collective work was the creation of four mobile cultural units, designed to be modular, easily transportable, and adaptable to various urban uses. These units were named: Cubes, Junkster, L-shape, Slabs / Unfolding.Alongside the design process, various activities enriched the experience: urban tours, thematic discussions, and public lectures held at Palia Ilektriki, a cultural venue in Paphos. Guest speakers included:Dr. Barbara Imhof – We are the Experiment (on space architecture)Dr. Socratis Stratis – Chrono-Urbanistic PracticesCharis Christodoulou – Reinterpreting Meanings, Customizing ObjectsMarianna Constanti – In Situ Interventions and the Ephemeral ExperienceDimitris Antoniou – Contemporary Reflections on the Ephemeral
